Amoxil – antibiotic which belongs to the group of aminopenicillins, has a wide action's spectrum. The active Amoxil's substance is amoxicillin trihydrate which is an aminopenicillin of synthetic origin, which possess antibacterial properties, but isn't sensitive to microorganisms that produce penicillinase and some others. Сlavulanic acid is present in Amoxil's composition, and this makes remedy resistant to penicillinase, helps to reduce cross-resistance to drugs of antimicrobial action.
Indications for use:
Remedyl is prescribed for the following diseases: gastrointestinal tract infections and hepatobiliary system skin infections. Amoxil's use is effective after surgery in case of infectious complications. Amoxil's combination with clarithromycin or metronidazole is used for treatment of digestive tract's ulcerous diseases and chronic gastritis.
Dosage and administration:
Taking the Amoxil pill in isn't related to food intake, they are swallowed whole. Amoxil tablets are taken with an 8-hours interval. According to instructions Amoxil is prescribed for children in the following order: children of 1-2 years - 30 mg/day per kilogram; children of 2-5 years - 125 mg once; of 5-10 years - 250 mg once; children of 10 years and above (whose body's weight is over 40kg) – 250-500mg once. Maximum pediatric dose of Amoxil's tablets - 60 mg/kg per day. For adults Amoxil tablets are given in dose of 250-500 mg. In severe conditions is taken 1 g of Amoxil.
